Pharmaceutical Chemistry is branch of pharmacy that deals with fundamentals of different branches of chemistry viz. Organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal chemistry and Analytical chemistry. This department involves chemical aspects of identification, synthetic alteration of new chemical entities to make them suitable for therapeutic use, assay of chemical & drug, purification and qualitative as well as quantitative analysis of it by performing chemical tests and using different sophisticated instruments.

Objectives

To provide theoretical knowledge to the students and to shape them into professionals with technical competence by intensive training.
Students should be able to apply their knowledge to drug synthesis, manufacturing and quality assurance in the practice of pharmacy.
